Eastern Horizons targets East Palo Alto students who have great potential to succeed. Students are recommended to Eastern Horizons from faculty and staff of local middle and high schools. The application process consists of interviews with school officials, the recommended student and the student’s family. As a result of our extensive interview process we find very special and deserving young people. It is truly a treat to give to these students. They all have the ability to do whatever they want with their lives and the Eastern Horizons program helps them achieve that potential. While the students time in Maine helps them grow and gain confidence, our year round program focuses on maintaining the momentum of the summers at camp. Currently we have fifteen students in our program. Our two oldest students will be attending College of San Mateo in the fall and our youngest students are in the sixth grade.
